Most of it is language services but they also mention "other services." $142 million was spent last year alone on the ESOL population.

We should not be cutting fire and police services. FCPS should stop or cut back those services and make sure the teachers get their raises. Whatever they spend for adult ESOL services should also be cut. Why is FCPS even offering that?[/quote]

This is the point.  If here illegally, they should not benefit from legal residents' taxes.  If here legally, they chose to come here and are responsible for their own integration into society, including acquiring language skills necessary for assimilation.  It should not be the responsibility of federal, state, or local governments to facilitate their assimilation when they moved here of their own volition.

How do you think a 5 year old can be responsible for their own integration into society?  Are you that stupid?  And just how many foreign languages do you speak well enough to graduate from high school or college with it?  I'm guessing zero.  [/quote]

No the governments and taxpayers of the countries from whence they came should be responsible for their 5 year olds integration into that country's society.[/quote]
