Like, if you're a shipping company, you would pay a lot for hurricane data.  If you own a beach house, you would pay a moderate amount.  If you are a climate change enthusiast, you would pay a little something.  And if you are the type of Republican outdoorsman who says "there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad gear," you're probably okay with the free private sector weather reports.

Isn't it a little uncool for us to force other people to fund our interests?

Also, I have a sneaking suspicion that a lot of people claim to love NOAA more than they really do.  It's a way of saying you're smart, saying you're not a climate denier, saying you oppose government layoffs, etc.  But are these people really checking the NOAA data feeds on the reg?  I'm not so sure.  [/quote]
