We are NOT ready for this. They just asked workers to come back to the office after a 5 year working from home period due to covid. Can we at least give people a chance to get settled at their desks before laying them off? A lot of federal government work is essential. Trump laying off NOAA weather guys is insane. We need to track climate change, and, even more urgently, we need to track natural disaster level weather events. Trump stopping USAID spending? That's our foreign policy he's messing with. And it has immediate effect. Medical clinics are closing and the USAID funding pause only happened a few weeks ago! What is happening? When we're dealing with essential services, we can't be cutting willy nilly with no forethought.

Define an entire collection of pieces of legislation for when they regain control of Congress and unleash it with a blitzkrieg legislative and communications effort. Likewise, for when they regain the White House, have all of the key executive orders written up, have all key appointees identified, judicial candidates, everything and everyone vetted and lined up ready to go in an all-out blast.
If the Democratic response to the current extreme MAGA administration is simply the opposite extreme, then I may actually decide not to vote in 2028. I'm done with the extremism of both sides.

Gift opinion article which basically says the do nothing sit watch and watch implosion approach is not the right one. Instead, progressive liberal Dems who care about people need to propose ambitious solutions bc there are real problems in our system and government.
Who (person / groups) is positioned to write such a thing? Would they?
IMO watching an implosion might be fun but it doesn’t provide a viable alternative that reacts to the real problems in the US for the midterms and next Presidential cycles.
NP. You’ll first have to convince the country that progressive liberal Dems actually care about people. I don’t believe that any more (moderate Democrat here) and I don’t know anyone who does actually believe that.
I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. Why don't progressives "care about people"?
They don’t support policies that actually help most people. They are in favor of funding their rapacious NGOs, and supporting the desires of extreme left white elitists.
I actually don’t see much of a difference between MAGA and progressive leftists as far as how much they care about people (very little).

Frankly a bunch of self satisfied in-the-bubble elite progressives sucking up money at NGO’s enabled all the right wing bullshittery we are currently enduring.
The smug aholes that got us into this, aren’t the ones to get us out.
No thank you.
+1 If a Democratic Project 2028 simply means to totally reverse ALL of Trump's EOs (they aren't all bad...perhaps just badly implemented)..then no, absolutely not in favor.
There needs to be less extremism from both sides...that's what landed us in this mess to begin with. There needs to be a clean slate - stop with the blame game. Just look forward and put forth a new "best in breed" Project 2028 -- meaning take a look at Trump's EOs without bias - the EOs that a majority of the country fundamentally favor (and voted for or even support even though they voted for Harris) and incorporate them into Project 2028 with perhaps a modified plan of execution/implementation.
I voted for Harris and can't stand Trump, but I fundamentally support the idea of many of his EOs even though I may disagree with how they are being implemented.

So you aren’t a D.
No one cares what you think about the D platform.
I'm not a progressive liberal Dem. Believe it or not there are...or rather were conservative Democrats.
I do not vote straight R or D -- I vote for the policies that align most with what I believe in...sometimes its a Democrat and other times its a Republican.
I'm a moderate swing voter and if you don't care what I think about the D platform that speaks volumes and that's why you lost in 2024 and will likely lose again in 2028. Remember that.
Ds should not cater to bigots.

Voting Democrat is not enough. You have to oppose everything Trump does, no matter how necessary or how good for the country.
