DD's high school team training also clashes with club training schedule and she is allowed to miss all the school team training by the head coach. She tries and does attend most of team social events though. Having said that, I would say she is a border line ringer but still more closer to be a part of the team from the way she interacts with the team and also the contribution she makes for the team.
