In order to be eligible to receive a scholarship, nominees must have applied to UVA and ultimately gain admission. Yes, I got all that. Hoping the timing of Jefferson advancement comes in ahead of the RD deadline. If no on Jefferson, UVA gets crossed off the list entirely. If we don't hear, then the kid will apply to UVA RD.[/quote]

A quick google will tell you that it’s a months long process—Jeff Scholars finalist not selected for final interviews until February.

I get that. Perhaps "finalist" is the wrong word. They definitely let students know if they are not progressing before February. Ideally, they will send out that word in late December, but if not, so be it. [/quote]
