Generators don't do much if you don't have access to gas. Plus after a hurricane you need to be able to run them for a long period of time. Reports are that the area is already out of gas. That means trucks need to make it back down there to refill the lines, assuming they are able to do so in a timely fashion and that the gas stations themself are not damaged.[/quote]

Exactly. Most people can't store enough gas to last long enough to keep things going with these outages. I have family in Ga and they were without power for over a week. They have generators and gas but you'll go through gas faster than you expect. Very quickly they were spending a lot of time hunting for gas. For those of you who haven't lived through long power outages, gas becomes impossible to find and more expensive like toilet paper/paper towels during covid.  [/quote]
