Meh.  (Disclosure: I've spent around 18k on my tattoos)

And I have found it a better use of my money than a vacation.  The tattoos are permanent; a vacation is not.

And for me, I love art.  I buy art.  I make art.  And I love wearing art on my body.  I am patient to get the artist I want.  I spend a lot to get quality work.  And at the end of the day, I am thrilled with how I spent my money.  Do you criticize the same people that spend thousands on a luxury car?  Or men that spends thousands on obscure hobbies or collections?  It brings people happiness.

And while I agree that that there are MANY bad tattoos out there, you have to recognize that there is a lot of beautiful art work on skin.  These are not my tattoos but I do have tattoos by some of these artists.  It is money well spent, imo.  They may not be your preferred style, but it's disingenuous to claim that its not art
