Obama is smart enough to know Biden has zero chance at this point. If Obama is loyal to the Dem Party and Americans, he'll urge Biden to step out of the 2024 race. If Obama is more loyal to Biden, he'll keep quiet and comfort Biden when he loses in November.[/quote]

This is the tell that democrats really don't believe democracy is in peril.  If they really believed something needed to be done to save the country, they wouldn't back the vegetable in chief.

Most real Dems are hoping and praying Biden backs out of the 2024 race but if he doesn't, they'll still support the vegetable-in-chief if the alternative is Trump because at the end of the day, Trump serving until 2029 carries more risk than Biden does in that same role. The problem for Dems is that the independent/swing voters are much less likely to support the Dem candidate if Biden remain that candidate and since we desperately need those votes, we can only hope that Biden does the right thing by backing out.
