Just so you know-even the teachers you deem great.....don't care what you think. Parents on here somehow think teachers are just losing sleep over their opinion. Nope. And we deal with a lot of parents with barely a pulse phoning in their parenting. So keep your Starbucks card.[/quote]

I don’t do it so the teacher will value my opinion— though I believe that some do— I do it so my child learns that our family  recognizes extraordinary effort on their behalf and doesn’t take it as a given.

And since we have teachers in our family I know better than to give a Starbucks gift card.[/quote]

That is nice and there are some sincere people....teachers and staff appreciate it when it comes from the heart. Most of us prefer and value a note or cards from the kids. We don't need it though so the parents who make a big deal and need lots of validation for doing it....we don't need it. Parent your kids teach them to respect the staff at school-teach them that school is for learning. That would also be truly appreciated.[/quote]
