The 2011 quake was absolutely nuts. We thought a bomb went off in the mall and everyone panicked and ran for the exits. Someone practically trampled my kid outside the GAP. Every drawer in my house was rattled open, our grandmother clock fell over and smashed and one of our chimneys almost completely crumbled and had to be rebuilt. I didn’t feel this one at all.
+1 We were in the library during the 2011 earthquake. Books started falling off the shelves and it sounded like a freight train was going right through the building. Completely surreal! I can only imagine what the earthquakes CA gets would be like.
+1. I was walking alongside Lafayette Park during the 2011 quake. There was a rumbling and the old townhome-style buildings visibly shook. And then people came racing out of them. Pretty obvious. Did not feel todays, downtown DC; but a colleague i was talking to when it hit did. I thought it was construction but when we looked it up we saw he was right. Family outside new haven said it was unmistakable there.
