We were in the library during the 2011 earthquake. Books started falling off the shelves and it sounded like a freight train was going right through the building. Completely surreal! I can only imagine what the earthquakes CA gets would be like.
+1. I was walking alongside Lafayette Park during the 2011 quake. There was a rumbling and the old townhome-style buildings visibly shook. And then people came racing out of them. Pretty obvious.
Did not feel todays, downtown DC; but a colleague i was talking to when it hit did. I thought it was construction but when we looked it up we saw he was right. Family outside new haven said it was unmistakable there.
