I didn’t feel this one at all.

We were in the library during the 2011 earthquake. Books started falling off the shelves and it sounded like a freight train was going right through the building. Completely surreal! I can only imagine what the earthquakes CA gets would be like.

+1. I was walking alongside Lafayette Park during the 2011 quake. There was a rumbling and the old townhome-style buildings visibly shook. And then people came racing out of them. Pretty obvious.

Did not feel todays, downtown DC; but a colleague i was talking to when it hit did. I thought it was construction but when we looked it up we saw he was right. Family outside new haven said it was unmistakable there.

No in Silver Spring. Even if there was a slight tremble it wouldn't register with me because I am used to feeling construction/traffic sounds and my mind would never jump to "earthquake."

A lot of people on here claim they would never (ever!) live on the W. Coast - primarily CA - due to the risk of earthquakes.

This goes to show that a natural disaster can happen anywhere….anytime.

I have family who are visiting Taiwan where Tue evening (Wed for them,) they also experienced a devastating 7.4.

Thankfully they are fine as I hope everyone who experienced this most recent quake is as well. ❤️

I felt the 2011 quake and heard the 2010 quake. Nothing this time in Silver Spring.

It’s Trump’s fault.

A 4.8 is very normal. Maybe even above average. Not surprised it caused some quaking.

I asked my partner "what was that?" When I felt the couch move. He didn't feel it.

I’m in Falls Church and slept through the earthquake likely because I’m out sick today with a horrendous migraine. Day 2 for me and now wondering if barometric pressure change is my trigger-wouldn’t be the first time. I keep a migraine journal and am noticing a pattern.
