Someone suggested contacting a news investigator. If you are in DC you can contact  ABC - 7, or CBS or NBC or FOX.

OP I do feel for you, having come to this country as an immigrant myself, I can understand your frustration.  I know how it feels to be in a strange country with little to no support and also not knowing the culture and how to properly deal with things.  Do not worry about all the negative non-sense you are getting, don't pay them any mind.  If they ever found themselves in a foreign country dealing with problems they wouldn't be able to accomplish half of the things you have accomplished.  Let them talk, do what you need to do whether it's writing a letter, contacting a news organization, etc.  The best of luck to you and be proud of your accomplishments.  [/quote]
