I've always been so impressed by how she turned this horrible situation around into anti-bullying, anti-harassment awareness and has had such a great combo of humor and humility in all of her press appearances. Love her.
+100, I find it so inspiring. When I have gone through some very hard times in my life that involved other people treating me extremely disrespectfully and unkindly, I will sometimes think of her and how she has retained her sense of self worth through everything that happened and it helps me persevere. She was manipulated and abused by the president and then manipulated and used by the people who wanted to destroy him. And she is the one who comes out of it looking good while almost everyone else involved looks craven and bad. I consider her a role model, which is amazing when I think about being 12/13 years old when the whole scandal came out and the things I heard the adults around me saying about her. She proved them all wrong.
Fwiw, I don’t know that she really retained her self worth through it all. Didn’t she say she was suicidal at times? I’m just glad she got through all that and was able to, over time and with much therapy I assume, piece it all back together. I give her credit for still standing after the hell she was put through. And to the other poster, I don’t think she was savvy when the scandal happened. I believe because of her mental and emotional challenges, she was a lot more simple than she should have been. If she was savvy, she never would have told Linda Tripp anything. Just because you grow up with wealth, it doesn’t automatically make you a savvy person. I think she actually was saved by her wealthy family-someone of lesser means would not have been able to navigate the mess she was in
