If FCPS or Fairfax County NCS did extra work to make up for the hassle they caused a community group, you could knock me over with a feather. But stranger things have happened.

Maybe have your league complain to your sport representative at the Fairfax County Athletic Council (basketball and volleyball both have a representative and an alternate and whoever pulls permits for your league should know all the right contacts)?
