I'm not great at talking to people at parties but I am a confident public speaker. My looks are ok.  When I get an attractive woman interested in me, it's often because of my public speaking or ability to take charge of a difficult situation or group of people in a room.  Or it's because I listen closely.  Most women like my professional competence.  The ones who don't tend to be very artsy, very left of center, or very right of center.  Being a good listener is different.  Some women become totally smitten once they realize I'm paying attention but a few find it to be a somewhat feminine trait.  They like more manly men than I am.[/quote]
