They can and do impose limits. These are private schools. They enforce it by not releasing transcripts to additional schools beyond the limit they set. Parents who don’t like it can choose to enroll their kids elsewhere, nobody is forcing them to attend these private schools. The limits can be beneficial, as the college counseling is very individualized and they take time to curate a realistic application list for each student. Students don’t need to apply to 20 schools just because that’s what fits in the Common App.[/quote]

Georgetown Day School does as well. I don’t know why this person is so spun up about it and intent on dismissing the fact that this does happen at some private schools.[/quote]
