The rest now feels like a waste of time but we weren’t sure what would happen in this highly unpredictable college admit round to an UMC white male with great stats. The colleges are responsible for this madness with TO and their other vague criteria for entry with emphasis on other things besides meritocracy that only they know!!!

Submitted 8 more apps by Dec 31 (whew)…..
Spent 1-2 days on each of the 8 apps; one at a time; tailoring EVERYTHING - and I reviewed each of these apps (was hands off in fall….)
20 apps??!??
Imagine if they'd have spent all that time studying, they'd have had better choices.

How very Socialist of them. And very ironic.

They can and do impose limits. These are private schools. They enforce it by not releasing transcripts to additional schools beyond the limit they set. Parents who don’t like it can choose to enroll their kids elsewhere, nobody is forcing them to attend these private schools. The limits can be beneficial, as the college counseling is very individualized and they take time to curate a realistic application list for each student. Students don’t need to apply to 20 schools just because that’s what fits in the Common App.
Well I guess it’s great your kid attends a school that only “allows” them to choose from 10 schools for their future.
Where did I state my kid attends one of those schools? They don’t but I’m stating facts that there are other private schools that impose limits on number of college applications.
NP
Great that you clarified. Now you should have no issue naming the schools that impose limits. I am aware of none. And I’m assuming someone lied to you if you were told that
NP here. Why are you so heated about this? I know for a fact that Landon does this.
