Most wealthy people I know don't wear handbags.  Actually, I am surprised anyone carries  a handbag any more, in 2023. And before cell phones (now many people use them as wallets, which makes sense to me), I still found it sad that grown women needed the attention of carrying any kind of status symbol - whether it is a stroller, a handbag, a coffee mug, whatever.  Something I hear mentioned on DCUM often, I would also never in a million years carry an expansive bag or wear high end clothes to work, because I work with women, and women can be nasty. Most wealthy people I know carry very nice handbags. Not all of them, but the vast majority. Mostly recognizable designer bags. So there you go - your experience is just anecdotal, just like mine.[/quote]
