Agree. So many of the designer bags are stolen and sold on Ebay. I don't want any part of that.

No. You need to be happy with your preferences. I am wealthy, but I avoid designer logos and jewelry. I'm just not into those things. I LOVE clothes, on the other hand (without logos). When I'm around relatives who wear branded items, I don't feel inferior at all. We have different ways of being happy, that's all.

Most wealthy people I know don't wear handbags. Actually, I am surprised anyone carries a handbag any more, in 2023. And before cell phones (now many people use them as wallets, which makes sense to me), I still found it sad that grown women needed the attention of carrying any kind of status symbol - whether it is a stroller, a handbag, a coffee mug, whatever. Something I hear mentioned on DCUM often, I would also never in a million years carry an expansive bag or wear high end clothes to work, because I work with women, and women can be nasty. Since you asked.
Most wealthy people I know carry very nice handbags. Not all of them, but the vast majority. Mostly recognizable designer bags. So there you go - your experience is just anecdotal, just like mine.

Don’t read into the overall financial situation of people that you engage in small talk with at a party once or twice a year.
Certainly don’t let it affect how you feel about your life or your personal decisions.
Perhaps a book on emotional boundaries would help?
