Look up what dedicated means. A lane that a bus shares with other forms of transportation is the opposite of a lane that’s dedicated only for bus transportation.

If people want to call them red lanes, go for it. They’re not dedicated bus lanes, by definition (and every time it’s been brought up before, people here seem _extremely_ hostile to lanes that are dedicated to buses and bus transportation in general).[/quote]

It's astounding that motorists would be angry about bus lanes.  They seem unaware that buses reduce traffic congestion and take cars off the road, making your experience as a motorist BETTER.  Every bus can replace 30-60 cars and takes up far less room on the highway than those cars.

Except hardly anyone rides the bus because people hate taking the bus. Now we’re going to ticket people for driving in bus lanes that are almost always empty? Ok. Makes sense. [/quote]
