Who would actually want a job like this? I’m sorry but you are looking for a unicorn OP.
Actually I would want a job like this. OP what city are you in?
Out of curiosity, how can you swing a job like this?
OP mentioned 5 - 9 on weekdays and otherwise on weekends, times when I am home and available.
Different poster here But do you not have a day job? Even if your day job ends by 4 pm or so—that would be a very long day. Wouldn’t it be hard to be alert and cheery after working 13+ hours straight? A spouse/significant other? Kids at home?
Kids are high school age. Work ends at 4, and I wouldn't be care giving every day, just the occassional need OP talked about.
OP said "often" and that it's for sporting events. I guess I was assuming it would be 2-3 times during the week and at least one weekend day. I have a kid in high school right now I'd be really sad to miss dinner with him frequently, miss things like games, school plays, music performances, etc. Unless I was really desperate for money to put a roof over our head and food on the table, it just wouldn't be worth it.
