College kids came in from all over the midAtlantic schools.(I was one of them😉).  On Easter’s weekend, every frat house had a live band, and Rugby road was blocked off at each end, and packed with kids drinking and smoking weed.  Cops were there, but I never saw or heard of any arrests in the years I went.  On Sunday, the field known as Madison Bowl was the scene of an afternoon outdoor concert, with major music acts headling.  Eventually, it became much too large and chaotic to manage, and, after numerous complaints by the good citizens of Charlottesville, the Board of Visitors ended it in 1982.  Unforgettable times.
