Mom could have protected the kid.  There was no need to share who his 1/2 sister was.  Dad isn’t in the picture.  He could have “left” her when she got pregnant and she didn’t know where he was.  If the kid didn’t know who his 1/2 sister was he wouldn’t live in her shadow.[/quote]
