[/quote] Yup. A child ran up to my 12-lb dog while I was walking dog. I had already warned the mother my little dog is shy and didn't want to be petted. The ~8-year old insisted on trying to pet him. My high strung dog flipped, ran in circles around me, tangled the leash around my legs, I fell and I was injured. I'm not going to sue anyone for a one-time injury that will stop hurting in a few days -- but a fall like that involving an elderly person walking their tiny dog can cause major problems. I'm not saying OP or her toddler were to blame in any way, but don't let your children try to pet dogs when the owner has already said that's not a good idea![/quote]
