WVU is probably a good example. Average GPA/SAT scores there aren't very high, so DCUM types have little good to say about it. But part of the reason why the scores aren't high is that the state legislature has insisted that the school open its doors to less polished and disadvantaged students who still want a college education. It doesn't mean that there aren't some excellent opportunities there for motivated students. [/quote]
