Back then you didn't need to be rich to enjoy free stays at hotels and free food and free flights.  You just had to have a job with a lot of travel where you rake in the points and miles and get highest status at major hotel chains.  I did this a lot before having kids, free vacations at chain resorts, hotel lounge access, miles and points, and highest status at hotels and airlines (which also gives you free upgrades).   But this has nothing to do with being rich.[/quote]
