Their vacations consist of staying at someone else’s home, perhaps a relative. Not necessarily in a “vacation” spot.

Nothing is free if you look into it. Rich people get comps because they SPEND a lot of money and somehow benefit those who give them comps, .e.g. they sort of pay for it. Travel perks maybe is the only thing if you get your job pay for it, but you also put in the "work" spending a lot more time at the airports and living out of a suitcase than many usually desire.
Poor people who are lucky to be friends/family with generous rich people are those who get stuff for free.

It was an awards level floor with an amazing snack spread and cocktails. So we ate at least 2 meals here a day while we were in Rome, and saved money to go to fun spots other places. Back then you didn't need to be rich to enjoy free stays at hotels and free food and free flights. You just had to have a job with a lot of travel where you rake in the points and miles and get highest status at major hotel chains. I did this a lot before having kids, free vacations at chain resorts, hotel lounge access, miles and points, and highest status at hotels and airlines (which also gives you free upgrades). But this has nothing to do with being rich.

Some of these are not really things that you get free or discounted. Here is my quick list:
1. Our employers pay for our cell phones. Have unlimited data, etc. and it is free to me.
2. Free parking at work (only for senior level people/admins have to pay)
3. DH has deferred comp plan to save on taxes
4. Have enough credit card points (because have big income to spend) so get many hotel rooms and flights for free
5. Free banking

I have some very wealthy aunts/uncles/cousins. They wanted to buy a private plane, but that was a tad to too expensive, so they went in on the purchase with friends of theirs. So the two families own the plane together, and it was cheaper than each family having to buy their own plane.

Houses. Rich people sell each other their houses at steep discounts. These do not go on the open market.
