Home workout person here- genuinely curious- how do you budget your time / schedule for the gym when you have to factor in things like waiting for equipment? Do you say, I’ll be there for an hour and whatever I get done I get done?
It's truly not an issue if you grow a set and tell the gym hogs you're working in and sharing the equipment. I budget an hour and am done in 45mins.
Again, try 'working in' when the difference between you and the person you are trying to 'work in' with may be 200 lbs of weight and 8 inches in difference in height. We aren't talking about fake garbage smith machine workouts. You'd have to unpack 2-4 45 lbs plates, take off and adjust the j arms, and then adjust the safety arms/bar catches between every.single.set. It's just not feasible,.and when you are focused on lifting heavier to break through a plateau, you may need more recovery time than the person you're trying to work in with is used to. How about just not doing arm curls, shoulder presses, and deadlifts in or around the power rack for starters? Learn basic gym etiquette and be aware of the space around you. Oh, there's only one rack that can be used to do squats? Maybe I shouldn't dead lift in front of it and do arm curls. Common damn sense.
Ok, yes, she shouldn't have been doing those exercises in or around the power rack. Congrats. You're right. Now, do you want to focus on the glow of Being the Rightest Right Person, or do you want to figure out what to do next time so you can get your damn squats in?
Wait, someone was working out *near* the power rack, and OP didn't say anything? Oh, OP, that's pretty sad.
