[/quote] Yes it does. There were 175 days of school this year and with all the other trainings, PD, grade prep days, etc end up at 194. The other 6 days are buffer to recognize that teachers of course work beyond school day hours. Next year academic year increase by an entire week because of the newly added religious holidays and desire to return to the normal 180 school day std. teachers are not paid for these new religious holidays and on top of that we lose a week of summer break when we could be earning money from a summer job.
