Also, in the past if you have many generations of "Mary" and "John" you need a nn to distinguish whom you are talking about. Not everything is about you, Elizabeth![/quote] Wow, put down the wine glass. Hard to imagine anyone having affection for you with your anger issues. What do old generations of Mary and John have to do with current use of nicknames. People use a wider variety of names now so by your logic nicknames would be less common. Also, Elizabeth isn't a very good insults since there are a ton of nicknames for that name.[/quote]
