My older son always got lots of 2s for behavior/citizenship. And we had frequent conversations with his teachers. By 5th grade this had turned around. He is in middle school in all Honors classes getting straight As and we've had no behavior issues. My younger son had many report cards with all 4s and a random 3. However, some of his teachers won't start out with all 4s for anyone because they want to leave room for growth throughout the year. I would check in with a teacher that was giving lots of 2s and ask if there's any way you can support at home, but depending on the teacher it might not mean that much. [/quote]
