The Charles Allen clip. I hear it not as concern for the shooter, but the the shorter was agitated and I’m a crisis. That’s just facts but sympathy. We do need to address the root cause - person I’m a mental health crises with acres to guns. Never heard of Charles Allen before today but he’s not a person to blame here. Blame lax gun laws (a uniquely American issue) and lack of mental health services.
Violent person with access to guns. If you take mental health out of the equation you will still have violent people with access to guns and the crime rate won't change. Innocent people going about their lives are still at risk.
You honestly believe that if you take mental health out of the equation the crime rate would not change? Where do you live? Where have you been for the past twenty years? Along with the DC residents who claim to never heard of Charles Allen, this might be the dumbest statement of the year so far.
The variables are inter-correlated. “mental health” is highly influenced by rampant drug abuse (yes, marijuana), low education/ignorance and a culture of nihilism.
