Ok. High school lottery. Does that ever move (cause kids put in for everything) or is it just like the MS one? Looking for some advice from experienced APS parents! We have a low ish number but not sure if it’s low enough. In MS my kids always had crazy high numbers and my other HS had a number in the 70s.
High school lottery definitely moves. My kid was mid-30s and got a call in August with a spot. Ended up declining.
For entry into 9th grade at HB? I assumed the waitlist was just as impossible as the middle school waitlist. I’d love to be wrong.
DP- some 9th graders go private and some are applying for IB. Other kids really want to play sports at their "home" school and do not want to balance HB/home school back and forth for that. Some parents chose HB in MS for social reasons and their kid no longer has those needs and/or desire to go to HS with their "home" school friends. Lots of reasons why the HS list moves more than the MS list.
