Caitlyn and Tyler came from incredibly toxic  families - jail, drinking, drugs. April and Butch couldn't look after their own kids, they had no standing to say anything to Caitlyn and Tyler for making a different choice.

This. But for the show, Carley’s impact on them would be minimal. The show requires them to rehash, on camera, the emotions tied to the adoption. The speaking engagements are all tied to it - because it keeps them relevant, which keeps them on a show called teen mom, even though they are much older. [/quote]
