Did I know my daughter's fiance was a bad choice, and didn't love her? Yes. Am I able to avoid MY OWN mistakes? No, unfortunately,  not all the time. 
But, I can tell a person's character pretty quickly,  I know when people are lying,  or when they are insecure. Facades don't faze me. Not to be braggy, but I am rarely wrong about people. That doesn't mean I am right about everything, never mess up on my own, or anything like that.
