NP. It isn't a matter of smart but rather a true 6th sense that you listen and heed. I have always had this and when I follow it then life is fine. If, however, I think that I want to do it my way, it can be a disaster.
Everybody has this to some degree. Find a quiet place, clear your head, meditate and see what happens.
Sixth sense? No. People who grew up in dysfunctional families often become adept at reading other's emotions and body language as it was necessary for survival. They are hyper focused on the subtle nuances people show in their expressions, body placement etc. It's no different than people who are trained professionally to read body language. Most people do not focus on others at all when they are talking and miss obvious signals.
Any of you who think you know another person's true intentions from a short interaction or the sound of the voice are delusional. -As in you are truly nuts. People are also notoriously bad at discerning when others lie. There are many studies about this. The studies showed the more confident the individual was in their ability to discern the truth, the less adept they are at it.
Bingo!
I used to think I had some special kind of gift/sixth sense. Even my dysfunctional family would talk about this gift as if it were inherited. Then sometime in my 20s I figured out it was all due to being hyperfocused on everyone's ever-changing moods in the house I grew up in that was never a safe place for me. Prescribing it to a psychic sense was just part of the magical thinking that I adapted to survive my circumstances to the best of my ability at the time.
I'm curious, OP. Does dysfunction prevail in your family of origin?

For example, one morning I woke up and thought, “something bad is going to happen to my car today.” It was enough to keep me on edge, but not enough to know exactly what was going to happen. I got hit that morning as I was almost through the intersection at a four-way stop less than a mile away from work. Would have never predicted that.
I can immediately detect a manipulative person. On multiple occasions, I have thought, “uh-oh” upon shaking a person’s hand. Again, I can’t really do anything with this information and have no evidence to back it up. The person is usually charming, so others would not be inclined to believe me. All I can do is keep my distance from them. I have warned DH on several occasions about colleagues of his, and he treads carefully around them. My intuition has never been incorrect.
I can read people really well, but if I ever told anyone, it would just come off as judgmental. Mostly, I just keep this information to myself.
This is me. 100%
