From experience, it's led to some misunderstandings. And when they start questioning you, it becomes a pain. ("Did s/he (REALLY) graduate?"). A non-committal answer like s/he goes to a school in Connecticut, Massachusetts, NYC, or whatever, is usually sufficient.
