It was the same with my DD, she's level 4 now and finally gave up hope for Party Girl role. I don't think it's a particularly skilled role, it's shared with a lot of young kids... I think it's because the role casts the same girls year after year it gives off the optics that they're too good for the other roles. I still don't understand why they couldn't switch it up every year with other talented dancers. But not my show. Not my morale problem anymore now that my DD has finally let that role go. Now she's dying to be a clown. That one I think she has a fair shot at! Whew!   [/quote]

It always cracks me up, because MOST of the roles for the younger kids - party girls included - are not really difficult roles to dance. But for whatever reason - I assume its the pretty little dresses, they all want to be party girls.[/quote]

It's a lot of stage time. My DD would have taken a Party Boy role and wore a wig in a heartbeat! She didn't care about the dress, she just wanted to be in that massively long scene. [/quote]
