I don't think it's a particularly skilled role, it's shared with a lot of young kids... I think it's because the role casts the same girls year after year it gives off the optics that they're too good for the other roles. I still don't understand why they couldn't switch it up every year with other talented dancers. But not my show. Not my morale problem anymore now that my DD has finally let that role go.
