New poster here. For health reasons, I have to lose 20 pds, 53 yr old female, overweight but not obese. I do not think it is realistic since I was 20 pds less like 15 yrs ago, but i can tell you that cutting calories and most importantly, carbs (I am using an App when you log in food) seem to work since I am losing a pound a week slowly but surely. Today is exactly 4 weeks and 4 pds are gone. The thing is, we do not realize that we are overeating a LOT every single meal. My portions now are 1/3 of what they used to be, no bread (except a slice if seeduction or similar bread), no rice, no pasta or potatoes, but I seem to still consume around 120-150 carbs every day with veggies and a bit of dark chocolate. Imagine how much we consume when not counting! It could be 400 easy every day, and it is slowly killing us. I am starving most of time but I will keep doing it, because guess what, I sleep better, I feel better, and my anxiety is almost gone. I do think I was grossly overeating, so maybe the rest of you are not. I never ate chips and other processed stuff, just large amounts of fruits, potatoes, chicken and basically everything.
