I'm a poster who talked in here about going low carb but using the test strips to figure out if you were in ketosis -- I thought doing that WAS doing low carb? When I read the Atkins diet book like 20 years ago, it talked about ketosis. I don't count calories or anything like that but eat a high-protein diet with low-carb veg, not much added carbs. Only starting to exercise (walks!) a little more now that 75 lbs came off after about a year and I'm in the "just overweight" category and my body feels better.
Being in ketosis is induction in the Atkins diet. I really enjoy how I feel when I’m counting carbs but my god my addiction to sugar and naughty carbs (homemade bread and anything potatoes, basically. Not the worse carbs in the world, but definitely not great for the blood sugar of a fat person) is unreal. Every so often I can make some strides but yikes.
