Cherry picking recent data? When the south has a summer covid surge? Try doing the same thing for covid deaths last few years and age adjust for age distribution of the state population. You'll find Florida has basically average/slight below average mortality after adjusting for age. Beating up on Desantis for his covid response is a loser strategy.... in fact he gains votes by pointing to it (e.g. keeping schools/businesses open despite pressure not is a talking point for him)[/quote]

Ok, fair enough - not including before that time isn't a good comparison. And not age adjusting it doesn't make sense given Florida has a lot of older people. Florida comes out as basically average when you do this. Not saying Desantis couldn't have better... but attacking him for covid response is not a winning strategy. Heck... most people I know admire Florida's "guts" for doing what they did, since there wasn't an obvious worse outcome as a result[/quote]
