PP here. I have a Mirena IUD. My period is actually longer on it than it was on the pill (10+ days vs 4-5). It also took a good 4-5 months after insertion before I stopped bleeding/spotting continuously. I’ve had it for about 8 months, maybe it will get better later but for now I’ve had to use way way more feminine products than before.

I have Saved so much money and never have to worry about having a tampon supply on hand. I don’t have to worry about used tampons and the trashcan.
There is a steep learning curve but, once you get the hang of it it’s miraculous. It is not messy to take out, does not leak and can last all day. If I have extra heavy flows I may have to empty it out once mid day. Easy.
