Not this late in the year. It’s unprofessional and rude. Anyone can work another 6 weeks. That’s a really $hitty thing to do to her students. Just finish the damn year and move on. [/quote]

My colleague of 21 years quit in March. She had had enough of the run around with one student in her class who was violent. She asked for help all year. Multiple times per day this student would disrupt the class. He would scream curse words at her and other students and throw things. I almost got hit in the eye with a dry erase board when I went in to help one day. Anyway, they had to divide her class among the other two classes. I refused to take the violent student and so did the other teacher unless the student had a one-on-one. We had the union behind us. Miraculously, admin found a one-on-one for the rest of the year. Parents, if a teacher of 21 yrs quits mid-year, you better believe it is because of something very serious. If I didn't have a child to support, I would've quit a long time ago. Teachers put up with a tremendous amount of BS and everyone has their limits.[/quote]
