I agree.  For some reason, we are still using a school schedule that was designed to address the needs of an agrarian society - start times late enough for children to help with morning farm chores and summers off to help with harvest.  Shouldn't we reconfigure school schedules to better align with how society functions today?[/quote]

This. Also, it hasn’t had anything to do with an “agrarian society” in 70+ years. It has to do with one thing and one thing only:transportation. If not for transportation, all schools in a district would just start and end at the same time.

And there is just no meaningful difference about 7:30 vs 7:50. Both are quite early. That’s life. [/quote]
