3 hour delay is ridiculous.
Yep, hopefully the various state/local transportation officials rip OPM a new one and they change it.
Seriously!!! I really feel for people who are being asked to report to work in this. We got nearly a foot and there are a ton of trees down blocking roads and affecting power lines.
OK. So let those people take unscheduled leave. Really, they should grant them admin leave. But they don't need to close or even delay opening facilities tomorrow.
Yeah, I'd be okay with admin leave. It's being forced to take annual leave because of factors outside your control (road conditions + inability to telework) when you'd gladly work at home if allowed.
Same. I'm a teleworker so it doesn't affect me but DH is looking at our unplowed road and wondering if his car can make it out anyway. More likely he would just get stuck. He has a meeting that he thinks will still be on because everyone is super "dedicated." He has sufficient annual leave but it sucks for those that do not. I suspect there is a trust issue in allowing people to use admin leave in these situations, but why not allow a couple floating weather days for employees to use in these situations where maybe it makes sense to open overall but a lot of folks will not be able to make it.
