All you have to do is look at the picture in the article to figure out what went wrong during the interview. No one with any common sense would put her face that close to the face of a dog she doesn't know really well. The dog bit her because in doggy language, she was threatening him. The owner should never have allowed the dog to be put in that position. And the host is obviously clueless about dog behavior.
I thought the same thing -and I thought it strange that anyone would feel that comfortable with a dog they don't know.
Yeah, I don't like to blame the victim but I gasped when I saw how close she put her face to that dog's face. I never would do that, regardless of the breed, especially when the dog is in a new and strange environment. And I certainly would try to stop anyone else who did that to my dog. But given that it was live tv, I wonder whether it would have been more difficult to interrupt the tv host and stop her from doing that. That said, I have no idea what the owner did. Haven't seen the tape.
Here's the video on YouTube. The owner was rubbing the dog's ears, and the anchorwoman was petting the dog, under his chin, etc. The dog bared his teeth, then bit her in the face.
