Ours isn't listed on the site yet. I don't think the OP was referring to ESS, because I think there was only one other notice, a week or two ago. But the entire 5th grade and one 2nd grade class was sent home yesterday.
When the vaccine becomes available for ES students later this fall, does this type of nonsense end?
I'm the PP you replied to, and I don't see the nonsense. I assume there were 2nd and 5th grade siblings that reported being COVID positive. Our 5th grade is tiny and the two 5th grade classes spend half the day together. So maybe 65 kids were quarantined. It's not nonsense, but it ends not just later in the fall, but when cases counts drop farther, probably after a substantial number of kids are vaccinated. Maybe spring or next school year. Or maybe it takes longer to end this sort of quarantine as official policy, but it becomes much less common as kids are vaccinated Etc.
Parents NEED to keep their sick kids home. If there is any concern, parents need to get their kids tested. Blame it on the parents with the positive kids and stop complain as you knew this would happen.
