I'm distracted by Nicole Kidman - in this and in Big Little Lies. I can't get past the wigs, thinness, and plastic surgery to appreciate her acting but I suppose that says more about me than her. The intensity of her look is actually consistent with her character. But sometimes I think, do we have to give every role to her? [/quote]
When you buy the book & produce the series, you get a say in casting decisions. Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Kerri Washington and other women have committed to better roles about and for women. I don’t love all of her work, but Nicole Kidman works her ass off and wears many different hats in the industry. [/quote]

Maybe be more concerned with putting the right person in the role rather than yourself?

The scenes with Kidman are completely distracting and I'm not thinking about Masha, I'm thinking that's Nicole Kidman.  I know I'm in the minority on this, but I don't think she's that great of an actress.

NP and while I never saw the undoing I think Nicole Kidman in a stringy blonde wig with a fake Russian accent is so distracting.  All I see is that description, not Masha.

I liked her in big little lies but think she does an awful American accent.  I get distracted by her slipping up and don’t notice if her acting is good or not.  Because all I think is this is someone faking an American accent.  Maybe they should just make all her roles Australian.[/quote]
