This was in Oakland, but is evidence that ANYONE can be a victim of crime. [twitter]https://twitter.com/BarbaraBoxer/status/1419784140904337410[/twitter]
Property crime. No one cares. Buy a new phone.
I cannot believe you think this is NBD.
DP Because it *is* NBD. It’s a penny-ante street robbery. Something like that probably happens a dozen times a day in DC. You don’t hear about it because it’s ….. wait for it …….. No Big Deal. If something like that bothers you, you aren’t cut out for living in a city. Move to some exurb if you wanna be in Mayberry USA.
NP. This retort is so tiresome. First of all, any personal attack like that IS a big deal. Depending on the location and time of day, it might be a very big deal. Second, city living should not inherently involve being the victim of a crime. Yes, it may be more likely that you'll be a victim of a crime depending on where you live in a city, but let's not act like city dwellers expect it or shrug it off. And even people who live in cities have crime thresholds. What many of us are feeling lately is that we've reached our limit and the level of crime is unacceptable. Clearly you haven't reached your threshold.
